I am from Calcutta, India. I attended South Point High School and passed the Higher Secondary Examination in 1987. Thereafter I went to Presidency College getting a B.Sc. (Honours) with First Class in 1990. I did a M.A. in Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi between 1990 and 1992 before going to Rutgers University for a Ph.D. which I finished in 1997.
My wife Dr. Indira Basu is Section Leader of Viral Cultures, Department of Virology and Immunology, at LabPlus which is a part of the Auckland District Health Board.
We were married on June 20, 1999. This is Indira hard at work.
