I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand. I joined the department of Economics in July 2008. I obtained my bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from the University Mohamed V in 1999, my Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University in May 2002 and my Ph.D. degree in economics from Arizona State University in August 2008. My teaching and research interests are in the areas of macroeconomic, growth and development and international economics. My current research focus is on structural transformation and sectoral productivity, governance in Africa, credit constraints and sectoral productivity.
